IDENTITY POLICY

Identity Policy

A Member or User ID is at the core of Internet trade at auction sites like GoFastAuction.  It’s imperative that an appropriate ID is chosen during registration.  This is a community of well-intentioned car enthusiasts, and all members are expected to conduct themselves and treat others with decency.

Choosing an easily remembered name is one of the key considerations for the new member, but it’s just as significant for the GoFastAuction community that the name is not offensive or used improperly.

Any member violating this policy may have any one or several of the following actions taken against their account:

  • Membership suspension and/or cancellation
  • Auction or classified ad cancellation
  • Restriction of access to GoFastAuction or any part therof
  • Forfeit of yearly fee

Identity Tips

The general rules for Member IDs at GoFastAuction include:

  • Names must be at least two characters long
  • IDs may contain letters and numbers but only some symbols are accepted
  • Indicating your location is acceptable and may help with your personal recall.

Prohibited Identities

  • Names that are offensive, obscene or imply racist or sexist connotations.
  • Identities that are email addresses or a URL to other websites
  • IDs with the possibility to cause confusion with another member’s ID, a brand name or trademark
  • Names with prohibited characters
  • User IDs with “GoFast” or GoFastAuction” in any part of the ID
  • Changing IDs with intent to confuse or mislead other members.

Member IDs may only be changed once every 30 days to ensure a stable trading environment.  Other members get to know you by your ID, so it is a valuable benefit to maintain your member name.

No member may reveal the contact information of another member unless directed to do so by proper law enforcement personnel during the course of an official investigation.  Members are expected to advise GoFastAuction management of any requests made by law enforcement.
